Kamionka’s Newest Wunderchild
October 26, 2007

And now I present you with Kamionka’s newest wunderchild: Sawyers Cantina. The Buddha sitting out back by himself in the rain. So Konnichiwa lasted from October 5 to, what, October 20? And now, a week later it is flipped again!
That’s a whopping three weeks for one restaurant to open, to close, and another to open in its location. The one thing that you can surely say about Kamionka is that he is fast as light in a town where development typically moves at a glacier’s pace. And that is commendable. Remember, Kamionka entered the blogoshpere himself to defend the place. From what I hear, there were some unfortunate circumstances that led to the end of Konnichiwa, but I (and everyone I talked to) thought that it was doomed from the very beginning. Now, we as a community can move past that failed experiment that barely happened. All in all, I think the cantina idea is much better, and I hope it does work.
Ron, you’ve had some decent ideas over the years. Konnichiwa was not one of them.
